I  am going to continue to share with you the main tips which everyone who stays in Stockholm should remember and take into notice. Small_Island

  1. Cheap way to see the archipelago

The Swedish archipelago is awesome. Thousands of islands create the archipelago, and there’re lots of tours from the city that will take you around during the day or sunset. But those tours aren’t cheap. You’d better take the ferries to the outer islands. Tickets cost $8-23 depending on what island you visit. Use Waxholmsbolaget for the cheapest tickets. By the way, tickets are half off from October to March.

  1. Buy transportation passes

Stockholm metro tickets cost 36 SEK per one, but you can purchase a transportation card for 300 SEK ($45) and use it during 7 days (50 SEK per day) and unlimited use. There is also a 72-hour pass that costs $36. While Stockholm is incredibly walkable, if you plan on taking the subway or buses, surely get the pass. All you need to do is to use the train twice a day to make the pass a better option than individual tickets.Comfort_Hotel_Stockholm

  1. Take advantage of hotel points

If you get hotel points, use them! Starwood, Marriott and Hilton hotels have locations in Stockholm that can be booked with points. Free is always better than paid.

  1. Stay at Interhostel

Interhostel maybe isn’t the best hostel in Stockholm, but it’s the cheapest. If you want a cheap, cramped dorm, this is your option. They’re the cheapest and located in the center of the city. Dorms start at $22 per night.019687-1356696468

  1. Use hospitality network

While accommodation isn’t cheap in Stockholm, you should consider Couchsurfing, a website connecting travellers with locals who offer a free place to stay. You can save money on your accommodation and get to know the local culture since there are lots of hosts here who take part in a very active Couchsurfing community. They organize lots of meetings, and this is a nice way to make some friends.

Visiting Stockholm doesn’t require destroying your budget completely. There are lots of ways to save your money in this expensive place. I come back here year after year, and while it’s never the cheapest city in the world, I always find ways to make my trip affordable. And using the tips above, so can you. Stockholm is one of the best places in the world – don’t let the prices make you skip it!
