Travel Interview with Anne SugaRay

Hello, friends!

My name is +Anne SugaRay , I live in Ukraine and work as a copywriter. My biggest hobby is to travel the world, so today I’m going to answer your questions about my travel experience and I hope it’s gonna be fun for all of us:) Let’s start!Diana V. (Di) –  Have you been to many foreign countries?

Me: – Not as many as I wish to, but… I visited France, Italy, Luxembourg, Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, Austria and Russia.

Travel Interview

Alok Saraswat – As you said earlier, you have travelled many countries, which country would you like to travel again and why?

Me: – I would say Italy! No doubt! This country has impressed me the most! Italy is full of tourist attractions which you can find in literally every city or town you visit. I’ve been to Venice, Rome, Florence, Pisa, Vatican and Verona. Each of these cities have so many places to see and admire you can’t even imagine! Really beautiful country with tasty food and hot men, lol I will never forget the taste of Florentine ice-cream and a sudden romantic acquaintance in Rome…)

John Singh – What was the most dangerous situation you have been in while travelling and how did you get out of it :D ?

Me: – I guess it happened to me twice when I lost myself first in Paris and later in Rome:) I just couldn’t find my way back to hotel at night both times.

In Paris I chose the wrong street to go. It was almost midnight and there were no people to ask the right way. Soon there was a Turkish couple following me and it was creepy as they shouted something to me. They handed me a card and tried to explain something but I figured out practically nothing of it and kept on walking. Turkish people stopped me again and I understood they were seeking for their hotel too! Just like me! And I thought they were advertising something, lol Finally I found the right way to my hotel and my adventure was over.

As for Rome, it was even worse! I had to come back to the suburbs where our hotel was. So I took the right bus but the driver didn’t speak English and I couldn’t explain him where I need to get off. Thanks God I have a great visual memory! But then again I lost in the streets and met some Italian guys whistling to me and saying something in Italian. So I was almost running away. I found my hotel and was safe. Seems like God really loves me:)

Travel Interview

Alok Saraswat – Do you like travelling alone or with your friends? May be you got both chances? So which one was good?

Me: – I really prefer to go with friends somewhere, but I traveled alone to Europe all the times. As for friends we gather together for summer camping for example. There is a place in a wood by the lake where we prefer to stay for a couple of days. We take hammocks, tents and live in a wild:) It’s great!

Diana V. (Di) – What do you usually do with your summer holidays?

Me: – I guess I’ve just answered your question, at least partially:) Also if there is a chance to go to the seaside I use this opportunity. I was in Odessa and Crimea. I really miss the sea as I was there 3 years ago last time.

Diana V. (Di) – What are popular destinations in your country?

Me: – I live in Ukraine and it has a lot of interesting destinations. First of all, I’d like to tell about our capital – Kiev. It’s a place where you can find all kinds of attractions and things to do. It has lots of beautiful squares, parks, significant monuments, theaters, galleries, awesome cathedrals etc. I’ve been to Kiev lots of times and I will go again!

I’d like also to mention such big and beautiful cities like Odessa and Lviv. They both have their own charm and history. Crimea is a nice place for summer vacation as this peninsula is surrouned by the Black Sea and has a climate similar to Italian. Mountains, sea shore and lots of attractions to have fun…What else someone needs? And, of course, the Carpathians. Here you can spend both summer and winter vacation. There are popular ski resorts, hiking trails and lots of places for tourists to see. If you’re more into castles and architecture then you have to go to Western Ukraine. You will definitely enjoy local culture and traditions this place keeps.

Alok Saraswat – Have you ever got a chance to see a waterfall in hilly areas? If not then would you like to enjoy it?

Me: – Last spring I’ve been to the Carpathians in Western Ukraine where I had a chance to see a waterfall. It wasn’t that big, but still magnificent. It’s called Shypit and may be translated as Whisper. Well, it’s not loud but very beautiful. I definitely enjoyed viewing it as it was the first and yet the only waterfall I saw in my life.

Travel Interview

Diana V. (Di) – What countries would you like to visit?

Me: – Oh, there are so many countries I would like to visit! My biggest dream is probably USA and Canada as they both have amazing nature, magnificent national parks, mountains and lakes! Then I would also go to Spain, Greece, England, China, India and Thailand. I dream about seeing Santa in Finland, lol To say short – I would use any possibility to see a new country or place I’ve never been before.

Diana V. (Di) – Do you prefer hot countries or cool countries when you go on holiday?

Me: – No matter if it’s warm or cold as I prefer to walk around the cities, learn about their culture, traditions, see places of interest, take photos etc. I’m an active person and can’t just enjoy the beach:) Though I wouldn’t reject to travel to Egypt or Turkey:)

Diana V. (Di) – What role travelling plays in your life?

Me: – Travelling makes me happy and full of life. It’s my most favorite hobby and I’d like to turn it into the deal of my life someday, lol

Diana V. (Di) – What can you advice a person who doesn’t know where to spend his/her holiday?

Me: – I would say everything depends on the aim of visiting a place. If a person wants to relax by the sea, there are lots of resorts in Greece, Turkey and Egypt. Interested in mountains? Choose Austria or Switzerland, though Ukrainian ski resorts are also an option. Eager for culture? Then I would recommend any European country. Paris, Venice, Rome, Florence, Prague, Vatican are worth watching on foot. The further you go, the more you see:)
