This is one of the main attractions of Paris, France and the whole Europe. It is a palace and park ensemble in the city of Versailles. This monument of the “sun king” of Louis XIV was built more than 350 years ago. There are many expensive rooms that can not be evaded even for one hour. And the park here is worth a separate one day excursion.
7. The Paris catacombs
Let’s leave the popular tourist places and come to the less famous ones. For example, the Paris catacombs. It is a network of underground and winding tunnels. They appeared during the extraction of limestone. The length of these tunnels is up to 300 kilometers! About 6 million people are buried here. For tourists only 2.5 kilometers of the catacombs are opened. The cost of the visit is € 10.
8. Fort Boyard
This 150-year-old fortress became known due to the television project of the same name. This ship-like structure of 61 meters long, 31 meters wide and 20 meters high was conceived as a fort. But while it was being completed, a long-range weapon appeared in the world. The building was decided to be used as a prison. Tourists can approach no more than 500 meters close.
9. Mont-Saint-Michel
