Agonda is a place for those who prefer a rustic, unhurried atmosphere of rest and relaxation, at the same time with enjoying a residual level of tourist comfort. The Agonda beach is a wide stretch of a sandy coastline, on which there are no crowds of people and you are as far as you can get from the constant hustle and bustle.
Agonda is a small, pleasant village, in the southern GOA (India). It is located 60 to 70 km (depending on the chosen road) from Dabolim International Airport and 10 km north of Palolem.
It is believed that the high season in GOA, and, hence, in Agonda, lasts since October to the end of February. September, before the beginning of the season, is considered to be the transition period, when the temperature is comfortable, it’s not hot, but there are a lot of rains to deal with. From March to the end of May, the temperature rises and gradually reaches its peak, but the probability of rain is extremely low. But with the beginning of summer the monsoon comes and it pours heavily, especially in July and August.
There are no architectural attractions in Agonda, except the Catholic Church, which is beautifully illuminated and looks great at night.
In this district there is also little to visit; only a couple of Hindu temples, but you need your own transport to get to them. They are located too far from each other. However, you have the temple Shree Laxminarayan, which is relatively close.
But the main attraction here is the natural beauty. The main ones are beaches, because the most beautiful beaches of Goa are located in this area.
A bottle of wine can be bought here only for $0.5. You can have your haircut done paying only $0.6. You can rent a shack right on the beach for $120 per month. Seriously, what else do you need when being in such a picturesque place?
This part of Goa is quite deserted, and the locals are not as spoiled by tourists as they are in the other parts of the Indian coast.
And in Agonda there are almost no hippies with their stupid plastic glasses. But here there is are a large number of temples and places for yoga.
