A 72-year-old grandmother blows her pension and goes traveling the world for the last 7 years

72-year-old Geraldine Foster spends her life traveling with a small backpack behind her shoulders and enjoying freedom as it is. Geraldine has already visited Central Europe, Russia, Australia and the USA.The traveler says:

“So far I’m not going to stop. Now I want this way of life to last forever. While many women of my age do not know what to do with their free time, or traditionally devote their days to grandchildren, I deliberately choose a different path. It is more interesting for me to travel around the world with a backpack, laptop and camera then just sit at home and watch the news on TV.”

“Maybe someone can think of me being a bit insane, but I’m divorced and retired. And I believe that we are all capable to take many amazing adventures in our lives, as soon as we understand that the only thing that stops us is ourselves.”

“For many years of work I have saved a decent amount of money. However, it’s not about money at all.”

“Quite quickly, I found out that traveling does not require a lot of money, if you are ready to stay at hostels, go by bus and train and eat the same food that local people consume.”

“My younger son fully supports my nomadic way of life, but the other two think that I’m a little bit crazy. I even suspect that the elder thinks that I should be more like a traditional grandmother.”

“Despite everything, I hope that I will inspire my grandchildren to be free and travel, when they grow up. My small piece of advice to all people – do not pay attention to what your family says, do not sit at one place and do not waste time at home, the whole world is open to you.”
