Festivals around Thailand for the coming November (Part 1)

Thailand is beautiful at any season of the year. The average air temperature here is about 27 C° all year round. It is a place that charms a lot of tourists from different corners of the world. But why do the holidaymakers and vacationers choose Thailand as a holiday destination? Some people want to find themselves at some remote place with a climate and lanscapes that are completely different to their hometown.

One can not but admire the perfect emerald water, the warm white sands of the beaches, lush greenery and the local architecture that can take pride in its wonderful pagodas and temples and, of course, local people and spicy dishes of the local cuisine.

Bua Tong Ban, also known as the Blooming Mexican Sunflower Festival, takes place in November. It allows people to enjoy the views of the sunflower fields, waterfalls and mists at Ban Hua Mae Kham, Amphoe Mae Fa Luang.

The island’s best known party town of Patong is a place that hosts annual carnival festival, involving the live entertainment and the traditional parade, with a giant Ferris wheel. As soon as this wheel is erected, the festival begins.

Buriram Long Boat Racing Festival
When: 5 – 6 November 2016
Where: Satuek District, Buriram

The boat racing takes place at Moon River of Satuek District, Buriram. With this Racing Festival, local people celebrate the end of the Buddhist Lent. This is one of the oldest festivals. It is about 600 years old. Besides the boat competitions, visitors can also enjoy boat procession and different cultural performances.

Surin Elephant Round-Up and Elephant Show
When: 10 – 20 November 2016

It is one of the most spectacular shows of the year in Thailand. Surin, that is situated in the northeastern part of the country, is also known as the province of elephants. The locals here can be proud of their skills in rounding up, training and taming wild elephants. Yearly, more than one hundred elephants take part in this festival, dremonstrating their grace, strength and intelligence in such games as soccer, log carrying and tug-of-war, and finally a dramatic mock battle. The festival tour also give you an opportunity to visit the old capital of Siam, Ayutthaya, and spend a day at an elephant centre learning the skills of the elephant mahouts.
