Kuala Lumpur is one of the brightest Asian pearls

This city is the capital of Malaysia, located in the south-west of the Malay Peninsula at the mouth of rivers Klang and Gombak, in the middle of wild valley surrounded by mountains.Jame-Mosque_Kuala_LumpurKuala Lumpur is only 130 years old, but already has its own unique flagships.

I was surprised to see modern city with thousand of skyscrapers but on the other hand the city with strong cultural traditions. Kuala Lumpur, also known as K.L. the city where everyone will find the comfort of home and the beauty of nature.

SONY DSCMy purpose of this journey was romantic escape from the pressure of the world. And K.L has not disappointed me. At the beginning I strongly recommend to visit “Templers Park”. These “green lungs” of the capital is a great place to rest among the trees, swimming and discover how amazingly beautiful nature could be. Also as truly nature lover I was surprised with amount of parks in Kuala Lumpur. Some of them located at the picturesque lake, not far from the center such as:

orchidee-park“Orchid Park” has about three thousand species of these beautiful flowers, same as “Hibiscus Park”, which is known as the national flower of Malaysia because there are more than two thousand species of hibiscus. You should pay a long visit to “Bird Park”, which is the largest in Southeast Asia and home to about five thousand of rare birds. The most romantic and exciting days where I discovered «Butterfly Park”, which is home to more than six thousand of colorful butterflies and “Deer Park”, place with mouse deer, which is  the world’s smallest hoofed animals.

But not only parks and nature make me feel I’m in heaven. I was happy to be lost within the city, where each corner shows you the unique taste of Asia and tells you stories of gorgeous monuments in the middle of the city.  The most remarkable and religious monuments of the capital are National Mosque Masjid Negara, the International Institute of Islamic civilization, Hindu temple Sri Maha Mariamman and the oldest mosque in Kuala Lumpur – Sultan Abdul Samad and Jamek Mosque.

Kuala-LumpurAlso you have to visit the famous Twin Towers “Petrona’s Twin Towers”, with height 453 meters. Take a small break and enjoy the city at observation deck, you may find it on 41 floor at the bridge between the buildings.

Usually in the evening I went for dining or to have fun in night clubs. In general, Kuala Lumpur has two types of night clubs: Chinese or European. Chinese clubs are always noisy and fun, you can dance the whole night and enjoy the crazy atmosphere. However if I wanted to dine listening the light music my choice was European nigh clubs. My favorite bar was Crustacea Jazz Club located on the first floor of the shopping center Bangsar. If you love sentimental and romantic jazz music you should come here.

My last evening in K.L I spent searching for souvenirs at Jalan Melayu and Masjid-Indiana and night markets in Chinatown. If you have enough time you might be lucky to find something really adorable for an affordable price.

Next morning I was on the plane and I wasn’t ready to say goodbye to such a beautiful city. Suddenly I saw beautiful green fields and smile, there will be no goodbye, see you next year!
