The Briton had a dream to quit his job and travel around Europe with his Australian girlfriend in a house on wheels.
“And I realized my dream spending a bit more than two thousand pounds.”
They have already covered three thousand kilometers on their minivan Ford Transit 2003 enjoying the romance of the road.27-year-old Briton Aaron Goodfellow and 24-year-old Australian Sophie Taylor met in Switzerland.
“We both like to communicate and study cultures that are not like ours, so we love travelling and working abroad, where we met,” – Aaron says.
“We are from countries located in different parts of the world, but we were lucky enough to be at work in Switzerland’s Verbier. We worked hard and after the end of the season in May our saved money was spent on travelling.”
“We played cards at the Clapham pub and drank a bottle of red wine when Sophie suggested:” Let’s buy a van, remake it and go on a trip to Europe,” – Aaron said.
Aaron and Sophie left Southampton and set out for a ferry in Calais to drive along the coast of Europe.
After France, they will travel to Spain and Portugal, and then to Morocco to visit the Sahara desert.
Then the couple will go to Italy and Croatia, followed by Slovenia, Austria and Germany. In the end, they plan to reach Belgium, the Netherlands, Denmark and Sweden.
“Every new day differs from the previous one, despite the fact that we live in a van. In the morning and in the evening you can watch stunning views. The sounds of the wild and the ocean and the wind, rolling waves – our way of life is very simple,” – says Aaron.
“We have the freedom of choice: to go to any place where we want, choose, stay for one more day or go on.”
Although their house is twenty times smaller than the average one, the couple lives a normal life and enjoys it!
“We cook at least twice a day, then rest, walk or train,” – Aaron says.
“We get along with a minimum of comfort when it comes to dishwashing or showering.”
“But it makes us appreciate such little things as an unlimited amount of hot water.”
“After we lost access to the TV, our leisure time became better: we spend more time together speaking with each other,” – Aaron says.
Very romantic trip, isn’t it?
