Marina Piro is a passionate traveler. She was born in Italy, moved to live in the UK, and now she is touring the world with her labradoodle doggie Odie, whom she took from the shelter. To do this, the girl remade the old car herself. She removed from the car salon all the chairs and converted it into a comfortable trailer with a bedroom, curtains, small kitchen, LEDs and even potted plants.
Marina gave the five-door Renault Kangoo 2001 the nickname Pam. It turns out that such a car can contain a lot of things: the main thing is to pack them all in a right way.
While Marina did not start to realise her project, she did not know anything about the cars repairing. She learned everything for the first time on the spot and all her discoveries she described in her Pamthevan blog.
“The van works in fact aren’t perfect, but it serves me just alright.”
Car renovation goes on.
She laid linoleum on the floor.
And hung curtains on the window to make car room cosier.
She also installed a comfortable bed.
There is even a small kitchenette with potted flowers in Marina’s mobile room.
According to Marina, all this cost her around £500.
When asking the girl about her favorite place she has already visited Marina said: “I adored the lake of Xonrupt-sur-longemer in France. It’s a lovely lake surrounded by pine trees.”
“It was super quiet and no tourists whatsoever, the perfect spot for spending a couple of days.”
“I also particularly enjoyed Brighton in the UK, and the whole region of Valle d’aosta in Italy as it has incredible views and it’s perfect for hiking.”
How long the girl is going to travel the world? She answers: “My plan is not to see as many places as possible but to really experience and get to know the places I go.”
As for her dog, Marina says: “Odie is loving it. He gets spoiled wherever he goes and loves being out in the fresh air each day.”
Marina says that she would like to spend 2-3 weeks in each new location possibly combining traveling with work in agriculture or volunteering. This year she is going to take a trip to Spain and Portugal.
Marina says that she has her own travel blog Pamthevan and page on Instagram with the aim to inspire other women but not to show off the “cool” life.
“I believe that every choice of lifestyle is “cool” if it’s what you truly want to do whether it’s travelling, being a home mum or throwing yourself into a finance career.”
“The blog was really created to make women feel like they could convert a van if they wanted to, even if they are alone/clueless/manless.”
“Many women tell me “I wish I could do it, but would have no idea of where to start” or “I’m not brave enough to follow my dream.” Well, they now have no excuse!”
Maybe Marina will inspire you as well and you will make a right decision to change your life for the best!
