Moving from Vietnam to the south coast of Albania. The southern part of Albania is an ideal place for a quiet life. Near there is a small town, along the national park Butrint. Ksamil is the southernmost town of Albania, that is a part of the Butrint National Park. The town was built in 1966. It is one of the most visited coastal resorts in Albania, both by the Albanians themselves and by foreign tourists. This is where the most beautiful beach of Albania – Ksamil beach can be found.The climate here is Mediterranean, local products being marketed here are olive oil and tangerines. Unlike neighboring Greece, Italy or even Croatia, Albania offers relatively cheap vacations: the beer costs just 90 cents per bottle. You can rent a house here for $ 100-120 per month.
With all the attractiveness of Ksamil there is a big drawback of this place – transport accessibility. The main air gate of Albania, the airport in the capital of Albania is Tirana, 250 km and about 5 hours by bus.
The main attractions of Ksamil are nearby small islands. You can get to these islands by swimming on a catamaran or by a rented boat. On the islets and on the shore there are a lot of restaurants where you will find a huge choice of the freshest Mediterranean seafood.
The beaches here are small, but there are a lot of them. And only here, in Europe, there are beaches with snow-white sand, similar to those found in the Dominican Republic. During the beach holiday, you will constantly watch the snow-white cruise liners, floating between Ksamil and Kofru Island.
And, of course, you can’t miss a chance to visit the ruins of the ancient town of Butrint, which is only 15 km from Saranda.
Things to do on Ksamil Island: eat seafood (here locals sell at the markets more than 30 kinds of fish, the average cost of a dish made of seafood in a cafe is $ 6), drink cheap wine ($ 6 per bottle), ride a catamaran and just enjoy your living here.
