Frankfurt International Airport is a German pride

Today we are going to tell you about such ordinary and interesting place at the same time as an airport.  This airport is famous and worth story telling. This is an airport of Frankfurt.images (1)Frankfurt is not very large German city, its population is only half a million. But Frankfurt is the cultural, business and financial center of the country and the largest city in the German state of Hesse. This place is well known for its futuristic skyline, for Johann Wolfgang von Goethe who was born here (and some other famous people) and the busiest German airport – the third largest airport in Europe after London Heathrow International Airport and Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport. This is the major hub of the German national airline Lufthansa. So if you happen to be flying to some European country, you’ll likely require a stopover there, in Frankfurt. And you will have a great chance to explore old buildings, famous museums at the river Main and the other local sights, to communicate with students, guides… But now about the airport.

imagesFrankfurt Airport (FRA) appeared in 1926 when it was first established as a little airfield. In 1958 FRA became the first airport in Germany to begin serving jetliners. In 1972 the 1st Terminal was opened and airport gained an international status. Frankfurt Airport ground, which forms an aria named Frankfurt-Flughafen is surrounded by the Frankfurt City Forest.

Today FRA consists of two main passenger terminals and a small First Class Terminal which is used by Lufhansa. The third terminal would be built on the south side of the airport by 2012. In 2012 the Frankfurt Airport handled 57.5 million passengers and it has more than 70,000 employees for today.

This is a real airport city is around FRA. Near Terminal 1, departure hall B the Airport City Mall is situated. There are two railway stations at the airport: one for suburban/regional trains and one for long-distance trains. This is very convenient for locals and tourists.

And a few words about tourist reviews. A lot of airport visitors complain of a security stuff rudeness and mud in the airport. They say it is poorly designed and old fashioned, with uncomfortable chairs, intricate corridors and dull look. There are a lot of reproaches on food quality and high price. But a lot of other tourists and locals call FRA one of the best airports ever and want to come back here. This is a perfect place to wait to their mind.

Anyway you have a chance to check it up by yourself and tell us. Have a nice trip to Frankfurt and positive emotions!
