How a New Zealand couple gave up their jobs and went traveling the world

Do you have a travel craze? You can’t live long at one place and want to change your habitual way of life? Then let this couple of young people from New Zealand inspire and encourage you to go for major changes!New Zealanders Bianca Brunschwiler and Brett Sweden travel the world and run their own travel-blog. For a period of four years they have already visited different parts of the globe, from London to South America.

Now they are in Nicaragua, and they plan to travel to South America soon. On their Instagram page they share bright photos and travel tips with their followers.

“Growing up, both Bianca and I were exposed to a small amount of travel,” said Brett. “I think these experiences planted the wandering seed deeply in our DNA.”

“We get itchy feet if we don’t have some trip to organise or look forward to. After university travel was our next logical step.”

“We enjoyed staying in Cuba for different reasons,” couple says.

“It was our first destination in Central America and first real experience of being in a place where nobody at all can speak our language. To go with the complete disconnection from the Internet it was a big culture shock. After a few days of not looking at our phones we fully appreciated the old school way of life.”

Brett and Bianca managed to travel so much due to the fact that they live very frugally, and luckily they have received a number of sponsorship deals thanks to the popularity of their blog and Instagram page.

But taking a trip it’s not always as easy and pleasant as anyone could think. For example, not so long ago, Brett’s mobile phone was stolen in Nicaragua. This case was a great reminder that you need to travel with insurance, and that you must keep your valuables and costly possessions close and back up your phono from time to time.

“Sharing all these magnificent experiences together is something we can fondly look back on in the future when we are old and grey,” Brett added.

Brett and Bianca, who call each other B1 and B2, say that they have no idea with whom else they could share all joy of traveling. “This journey has been a real test on our relationship but this has also made us stronger and we know we are ready for any hurdles that will hit us in the future,” Bianca said.

“At the moment we get a lot of support from the Instagram community and travellers ask us questions from time to time about where to go and as for our recommendations at various destinations,” Brett added.

After almost four years of traveling the globe, the couple plans to come back home in New Zealand next year. “We are really looking forward to spending time with our families and hanging out in one of our favourite countries – New Zealand – no place like home after all,” they admitted.
