The annual battle of tomatoes – Tomato (La Tomatina) will be held on August, 29 in a small town of Bunyol. More than 40,000 people will gather in the morning on the main square and will wait for a shot from the water cannons, informing about the beginning of the holiday. The trucks filled with tomatoes will drive into the city at a signal – and the battle will begin.
For an hour the locals and guests of the city will have fun, showering each other with tomatoes, until a second signal sounds.
The small town of Bunyol is just an hour’s drive from Valencia, so many tourists prefer to stay there, combining a visit to Tomatina with a beach holiday on the Spanish coast.
